Posts like these will state my goals, long term, short term, and continuing.

goal : to become expert in derivatives

date of evaluation: 16th January 2008

evaluation program:

  1. Finish John C Hull. ALL chapters.
  2. practice exercises at the end of EACH chapter.
  3. practice fluency.
  4. Search for more in derivatives on net.
  5. Write an article on derivatives.

There are 32 chapters in the book. Even if there are 28 of them really relevant to me that means I need to study 28 chapters + the exercise.

I think I need atleast 3-5 days to write an article on derivatives ( from what all I have learnt in Hull mostly). Parallely  I can scan the internet for additional information.

In toto, there are 29 days remaining. Deducting the 5 days for article , I am left with 24 days with 28 chapters +exercises to read.

I have Saturdays with one lecture, Sunday and Monday free. I also have to account for the days I might not study at all, such as those where I go and play cricket in FMS. I think I can allocate 5 such days to go without studying.

So, I am left with 19 days and 28 chapters+ exercises. that converts to almost 3 chapters per 2 days.  Hmmm, tough days ahead….

In fact, I also have to work on the project taken from Prasad dada. I think I must complete it within 15 days, so I can move on to maybe another such project. A detailed planning seems to be needed for this.
